deja vu

I sit on my bed for hours
looking at the stillness of the walls
cold and dark and no fun at all
where did all the fun go

did i leave it on a plane somewhere
or in a drawer, no fresh care
the dryer is broken and my collars are strayed
don't need nothing living like 50 shades of gray

i dont watch teevee
it watches me
dancing in front of it like a honey bee
venom and lust from the projected image
needs no time to get into my vision

my eyes close as i look at the screen
they cross over to another extreme
i gawk and gawk into the space of the realm
feet go titter toe, titter toe at my shoe
hell, this feels like deja vu 2

Merriam-Webster taught me some words
i forget them now, that must be absurd
i close my eyes and pick a page
blowing cotton in the wind to make day pay

a slave to technology
we all know it's true
we still do what we do
because we feel blue
on a sunny afternoon
before the chickens hatch
and the red rooster goes cock a doddle doo

lies blind and money talks
money swears to those who don't prepare
the weather sucks, my mind is shut
got all beat up, in the blizzard buff

mix poetry with song
no more clings and dings
making words from the studio
keep above the wonder king

she told me twice to go
i'm ready now
i won't eat for three days
but that's  plenty now

tip top coats
i'm not rich nor famous
bite down on my lip
make a soul in a song for a bit

make em laugh, make em cry
splish splash goes the market
dealing in trades of Montana cards
mine's 50% off
and i think

"man, that sucks"
