The SoBi Pandemic
The city fought to have bicycles in the
downtown core. But what would happen if these bicycles had a mind of
their own. At night time, each stance would hunt for nights looking
to vandalise. It's those damn sobis, a homeless man, named Fred,
thought, I seen them with my own eyes. I gave him some change for
more information.
"I see them travel in packs. Right
at the break of midnight. Never seen a hell of such a thing in my
life."
I gave the man a 1 dollar piece.
"Yeah, you know, they just waiting
for night to fall and the go to each hub and take the place of
another. But they're multiplying goddamn, I'm sure of it. I see
different ones at night .The sobi's are using riders as their beacon
while the rider is infused and connected to it. It's like interweb of
sobi bikes into the riders conciousness. Haha, you bet I didn't know
what that meant. Used to be a philosophy major, now I'm living off
40z and cold pizza."
I hand the man a five dollar bill and a
coupon to A&W. It was the only things I had in my wallet.
Maybe he is right though. That would
explain a lot to do with disappearence of riders in downtown. The
bike leads them in the day and become addicts. The sobi attacks ride
endlessly into the night and people begin to vanish into thin air as
soon as there entire passwords. I have to figure out what's going
on,a sleuth if so be it. I timed each biker at a level where there
are full bikes on racks and the idea is simple, see how many enter
passwords. They all see to and I am beginning to get the notion that
these passwords have to do with something about the riders
appearance. It seems the smart ones are used and sent back into the
motion after riding to work, etc. Then there's the others, the ones
that place the bike whenever they deem appropriate. The news isn't
covering the disappearence because no one really had notice since
now. My hypothesis may be garbage, but at least I can find out the
truth about the SoBi pandemic.
I went back to the same homeless man
and he had some new information. He sees what the police cannot,
because he just knows. So, I give him another couple of coins and I
sit next to him. He begins the dialogue.
The older gentleman, Fred said, "Ain't
no horror movie if I ever seen one. People who ride don't seem to
comeback. It's like Christmas for Christine. You know, that old
Stephen King novel. But only with cycles and passwords. What's your
prescription for all of this?"
"For you, lithium and stay off the
booze"
