when there is a hawk in the sky

i tell you have got to understand
the meaning of that bird

it goes back ot ancient times kid
something in the sumerian time period
and that's before you and i was long born
my father told me he saved on that hurt himself

right in the bush near our cars
and he found him
in the summer day
and i nutured him to health, they he flew away

never did damn dawned on me
but the certainty of the bird leaving my hands alive and well
that gave me the feeling that everything will be okay
and he'll have suns and daughters
