times of trouble

well,my old geetar busted
i'm rambling around
reading oh goodness
oh lordly get down

you watch and you see
what life is meant to be
yet you calmly ignore
fulfilling the deed

times of trouble
break down my soul
all i have left is my spirit
a body so warm

i found myself in a leopard skin
with Lucy and Judas and Rumpelstiltskin
they play for a dollar
much more than i play

there's  no harmony in this sad song
no playing, around no messing the floor
god told Abel, to do what he must
he sinned for his weakness and his son is lost

times of trouble
break down my soul
all i have left is my spirit
and my body's so warm

contemplating my fortune
coins dropped in a hat
some are nickels, some pieces of crust
he died for his lust

this song ain't quite over
the train track moves on
i ride the northbound
i hope it's my home

times of trouble
break down my soul
all i have left is my spirit
and a body so warm

i hope it's my home
i hope i find it
i hope it's mine
i hope it's my home

the days get longer
my hands, hard as rock
i hope i find it
i hope it's my home.
